Week 5: Senior Situations vs. Brett Knott
Well we showed up on Wednesday once again looking for a victory. Brett Knott was our opponent and we were looking to take no prisoners and whoop some a**. The game started out slow. We trailed early but we led 17-11 at the half. The second half though went by fairly easy. We won 38-19. Senior Situations 3-0.

Week 4: Senior Situations vs The Brewskies
Well, what a night. We matched up against The Brewskies on Feb 16th and boy were we in for a treat. Three of their team members showed up drunk, two got kicked out before the game, and the third during the game. The game was cake though. At the half, we lead 26-0. This team was awful and they didnt seam like they cared as much as we did. With five minutes left, we were leading 36-4 and the refs stopped the game due to too much arguing by the other team. So, we won huge. Senior Situations 2-0.

Week 3: Senior Situations vs Flint Tropics
Mother Nature is very hateful right now. The squad met up on Tuesday night for a light pre-game day work out to get ready for our matchup the next day against the Flint Tropics. We played hard at OCC, our usual practice spot and prepared heavily for our game. But Wednesday around 11 o'clock, as we hit the books hard in school, a constant snow fell across our town and school let out early for cautious reasons. All afternoon activities were cancelled and our game was once again was postponed. We were definitely upset but we enjoyed our snowday. Senior Situations remain 1-0.

Week 2: Senior Situations vs Johnny Brantley
Wednesday February 2nd, 2011. Its gameday for our long anticipated and delayed season opener. I woke up and scanned the ground as I looked out my window. No snow. I got ready for school, put on my Senior Situations tee and headed off to school excited about the game. School flew by and we were excited to finally get on the court and play. Tip off was set for 7 45 but we arrived at 7 for Coach K and Coach Cal wanted us to scout some of the other teams that played before us. Finally, it was time. We got off to a great start and headed out to a huge 14-0 lead. They fought back and we lead 18-10 at the half. Coach demanded for us to finish therefore we knew we could not let him down. But Johnny Brantley and his squad battled us hard fighting back within two points. We buckled down though and went on a late run to seal the game, 29-24. We earned our first victory and all though it wasnt pretty, we still won and thats all that counts. Senior Situations 1-0.
Week 1: Senior Situations vs The Step Dads
Wednesday January 26th, 2011. I wake up and approach this morning differently than any other day, because its game day and our season opener against the unknown "Step Dads". We knew very little about this team, only knowing some facts such as the team consisted of all freshmen. We saw this as a great opportunity to open our season with a victory and help build momentum leading into future tougher opponents. But this game was a dud. I woke up realizing there was several inches of snow on the ground and school was cancelled. I was heartbroken due to the anticipating wait to play and now I would have to wait til the next week and the game against the freshman would be added on to the schedule at seasons end. Although there was no school and game on this day, we gathered once again at OCC and put in some work on the court to prepare us still for our first match up that was yet to come.
Practice
Most intramural teams come into the season without practice and experience together as a team, but not the Situations. We knew we had to have an edge on our opponents so we began the season early with light pre season workouts, or as some may call it practice. Last year, we held our practices at Deer Park Elementary with the help of a few parents but this year we lost our practice facility due to faulty and unreliable sources. So we decided to hold our pracitces in the open gym format at Owensboro Christian Church. We play the full length of our practice in 5 on 5 scrimmages against any challenging squad of old washed up basketball players that stand in our way. Playing togther more than the other teams can give us an advantage and help us reach our ultimate goal of beating Apollo in the intramural city championship if held this year.

Try outs
Every year after Christmas break, my friends and I do not dread the return of school as much as others. One reason...Intramural basketball. The season comes once a year. Every team starts the year with one goal, to win the tournament. Only one team can claim that pride. This year, the Senior Situations are the top pick heading into pre season workouts. Most teams just throw a bunch of guys together but not us. We invited the best talent in all of DCHS to try out for our team. We only had one spot available so the competition was very stiff. We reviewed the triees and we had our man. He would be a bench player but still hopefully play an important role in our chamionship campaign. So now our roster was set. At point guard, we have Tyler Mills aka MRSTEALYOGIRL (5'8" 140lb) and Taylor Richard aka JOE-TRICH (5'10" 150lb). At shooting guard we have Glen Fuchs aka G-BOOGIE IV (5'10" 170lb). Holding down the small forward position is Philip Powell aka BULLFROG (5'11" 175lb) and myself, Aaron Davidson aka LITTLE BOB (5'9" 190lb). At power forward we have Will Johnson aka THE MESSIAH (6'2" 185lb) and Mitchell Owens aka SECURITY (6'4" 205lb). And at center we have Mark Wathen aka WILDABEAST (6'6" 230lb). The coaches are Blakely Keith aka COACH K and Michael Bastin aka COACH CAL.
